The Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi is a government medical college affiliated to University of Delhi. It is named after the great educationist Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. The medical college offers the graduate/post graduate/residency degrees of MBBS, MS, MD and fellowship degrees of M.Ch and DM. It caters to 290 undergradtuate students, 245 post graduate and post doctoral students per year being trained by 426 faculty members and 810 resident doctors. The college is constantly ranked among the best medical institutes of the country.
Candidates seeking admission to MAMC must qualify National Eligibility Cum Entrance (NEET 2019) conducted by CBSE. Apart from AIIMS and JIPMER, NEET is the only medical entrance examination conducted in India for UG admissions. It is necessary for a candidate to score a minimum of 50% aggregate (40% in case of SC/ST and OBC candidates) in NEET 2019 to become eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS programs.
Admission at MAMC is strictly based on the merit list of candidates belonging to different categories is released by Faculty of Medicine and Sciences, Delhi University. Only when the seats are left vacant after preparing the merit list of Delhi NCR candidates, desirable candidates belonging from outside Delhi are taken into consideration.
